Build your pages with content blocks. Each image, text, or map is added as a block to a page.

• To add a new block, on the right, go to the Add a new block panel, and click the plus icon next to a content block.
• To remove a block, click on the trashcan icon in the block's upper right corner.
• Be sure to click Save in the upper right corner after you make changes. Omeka S does not save automatically.

• Page Title
  • Adding this block to all of your pages creates a consistently formatted title across your site.

• HTML (text, etc.)
  1. Choose this block to add text to a page.
  2. Click in the text editing area for a menu to pop up. From here you can format your text.
     • Click the clipboard icon with a W on it to paste text without formatting. (When you paste text from another application, it will sometimes copy the formatting too, which may not match the rest of your site.)
     • Click Format to add headings for sections of text, for example.
     • Click the chain icon to add a link.
     • To  edit HTML code directly, choose <>Source.

• Media Embed (image/video)
  1. The preferred method for adding video.
  2. Add an image, youtube video, or any other item to a page.
     •  Enter the page title.
     •  Leave the URL slug blank. This is the last part of the URL for the page -- it will be created automatically from the title.

• Item Showcase (image/video)
  1. The preferred method for adding images to a page.
  2. Add Attachment to search for and select an image. In the box that appears on the right, search for the name of an item and click the magnifying glass. You can filter your search by item set or item type as well. Items must be added to the site before they can be added to a page. If your item is not showing up you may need to add a new item.
  3. Click the image or item to select it.
  4. Add a caption here unless you prefer to do that in an HTML box.
  5. Click Apply changes.

  7. Click Save in the upper right corner before navigating away from the page.
•  Simple Carousel  (image/video)
  1. Also known as a "slider" or "slideshow," a way to browse through a set of several images.
  2. Contact an admin  for assistance.
• Browse Preview (image/video)
  1. This will create a grid of items based on the options you select in the block.

• Map by Query (map & timeline)
  1. Create a map and/or timeline from the locations/dates associated with your items.
  2. Your item must have both a location and a date (datestamp) to appear.

• Line Break (blank space)
  • Insert extra blank space or a horizontal rule into your page.

• Asset
  • Do not upload images here. Please only add files to your Item Set.
